In July 2022, San Francisco welcomed the 22,000 square foot, $39.5M facility housing the Southeast Family Health Center at 2403 Keith Street as a new healthcare “hub” in the city’s diverse Bayview neighborhood. The new state-of-the-art and LEED Gold certified building was constructed by CLW and designed by the Department of Public Works. The new center is located adjacent to the original health center which dates from 1979 and will be converted to office space for the centers administration.
The project was a highly visible one in San Francisco with many public sector stakeholders from the City of San Francisco, San Francisco Department of Public Health and Department of Public Works to Supervisor Shamann Walton, and the San Francisco Health Network. Mayor London Breed celebrated the grand opening of the Center in a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 14th.
The Priority Architectural Graphics offices and warehouse are located just blocks away from the new health center and the company was honored to be part of this new and very needed addition to the Bayview neighborhood.
The Priority team was asked by CLW to fabricate and install exterior marquis ID signage and interior wayfinding, code signage, information and parking signage. While the project was underway, the Center’s management team decided to update the logo for the organization, impacting the plans for the exterior building branding.
Signage Installer, John Choe, described his experience working closely with the CLW team, “Working on the Southeast Health Center project was great. It’s always a pleasure working with the CLW team and I’ve worked with them for many years. Their team is very kind, easy to work with, and has always treated me like family. I’m always looking forward to working on their upcoming projects.”
The Priority team was able to juggle the change orders seamlessly and reach all project milestones on time and on budget.
Southeast Family Health Center services over 4,000 patients annually and provides primary care appointments without reservations to their walk-in clinic. Anyone can come regardless of insurance status and the site also offers wholistic primary care, from prenatal and pediatric to geriatric care as well as offering podiatry, dental, optometry, behavioral and substance abuse services, WIC nutritional services, clinical pharmacist consultations, acupuncture and laboratory services. In addition to the 21 exam rooms, the center features educational spaces for community groups to meet in as well as two larger rooms for community events.
Fairine Lai, Project Engineer at CLW Builders, Inc. noted “Priority Architectural Graphics has been a great partner in completing the Southeast Family Health Center. They have been very responsive since day one; and have provided continuous support throughout the project, whether it be a site visit or meetings – both virtual and in-person – PAG made no complaints and happily met our needs. We look forward to our continued relationship with PAG for all our signage needs!”
