ARTWORK PREPARATION GUIDE


General Guidelines

Files to be emailed should be 6MB or smaller. Files may be compressed using Stuffit or WinZip.

Files larger than 6MB should be sent via yousendit.com

Convert all fonts to outlines.

Include all embedded graphics.

Save all files in PC compatible formats that include file extensions.

For precise color matching, please provide Pantone Number, standard vinyl color name, or paint swatch description from standard paint suppliers.

Weld all contacting graphics elements.

Convert single line to double line artwork.

Avoid duplicate and complex stacked vectors.

Only solid vector images can be cut, no half-tones or gradient fills.

Convert RGB files to CMYK

Preferred file formats:
- Adobe Illustrator CS2
- Corel Draw X3
- EPS
- PDF
- FlexiSign 7.5
 
Convert RGB files to CMYK

Resolution should be at least 150dpi. Most web graphics are 72dpi, and therefore unsuitable.

When ever possible provide artwork at actual size. Please note scale and/or dimensions.

Preferred file formats:
- Adobe Illustrator CS2
- Adobe Photoshop CS1
- Corel Draw X3
- EPS
- PDF
- JPG
- TIFF

If using Quark Xpress, inDesign, or MS Office please convert files to one of the formats listed above.


Art production, file conversion, and graphic design services are available in-housed upon request.
Some file formats not listed above such as Autocad, Scanvec, DXF, DWG, PLT, HPGL, ProE, etc. may be acceptable depending on the specific job requirements.
